And then it snowed...
Heading on up into Scotland, we have seen the weather change.
Still, with the efficient diesel heater in the R30 it means we can leave it running while away from the van and be snug as a bug in a rug when we get back. While travelling, the cab heater is very good at keeping the whole van warm.
With so much snow in the mountains, we drove round the opposite side of the loch from Fort William to get a good view of Ben Nevis shrouded in snow. It was worth the effort and looked spectacular. Fort William has always seemed such a lacklustre place compared with its dramatic backdrop but is a great place for stocking up on the essentials, the reason it thrives.
There’s no set itinerary for this jaunt, it’s just a question of see where the mood takes us. We love the flexibility of a compact camper, especially when it’s as well equipped as this one.
We’re off to stay in a cottage belonging to friends where the wildlife watching is great, although if you want to be out in the wilds the R30 is proving to be a great hide - warm and with its own built-in tea room!
