Green Deal for Romahome in Scandinavia

Swedish Romahome importer Ken Dunlop has done a Green Deal with one of its R20 Hi models.

He has sold the vehicle to a company delivering wind turbine blades around Scandinavia as an escort vehicle and is also researching sales to others in the transport and vehicle recovery sectors.

“Ken’s innovative thinking is giving us some pointers on where to take Romahome here in the UK,” says Brian Bailey, managing director of the Isle-of-Wight based manufacturer.

“He has a demonstrator liveried half as a load escort and half as a conventional Romahome making great use of the vehicle at a variety of events.

“He also adapts his Romahomes to cope with the severe weather in the Scandinavian winters so they remain usable. We can also offer a similar service in the UK.

“In the past, Romahome’s sister company, SVP, supplied hundreds of its Bedford and Vauxhall Brava conversions to the AA using its motorhome construction experience and there’s a huge used vehicle market for them in the construction and vehicle repair sectors 20 years after we first started to build them.

“The idea continues in modified form as the Transformer top which sells to public utilities on a choice of pick-up base vehicles and has just been revised to fit the latest Ford Ranger.”
